The Brazen Club exists to encourage and enable more women to see entrepreneurship as a viable career path.

As it stands, women in the U.S. start approximately 849 new businesses every single day and for good reason. Entrepreneurship offers an opportunity for autonomy, impact, economic mobility, and generational financial freedom. On a broader level business leaders shape society as we know it. From the way we get round (Uber, Lyft, etc.) to the way we find love (Hinge, Bumble, etc.) to the way we buy groceries (InstaCart, AmazonFresh, etc.) our everyday habits have been altered by entrepreneurs. You’re probably familiar with all of these companies, but did you know that just one (Bumble) has a woman co-founder, and not one of them has a woman of color on their founding team? As the world around us changes rapidly it’s critical that women have a say.

In our effort to encourage and support more women to become entrepreneurs we have a three pronged approach:

1) Demystify Entrepreneurship

LLC, C Corp, equity, funding, business plans, product-market fit, roadmaps, and the like. We’re breaking it all down. No one said entrepreneurship is easy, but it doesn’t have to be complicated.

2) Create a Safe Space for Discourse

Women often face an uphill battle when getting their business off the ground. Unconscious biases can stop us from getting funding, lack of a safety net can lead to feelings of shame and recklessness, and the absence of easily accessible and culturally relevant resources can lead to a gap in business acumen that seems insurmountable. Let’s talk about it and come up with solutions together.

3) Build the Brazen Brigade

Ever heard of the PayPal Mafia? It’s a group of former PayPal employees (all men) who have gone on to found some of the largest companies we know today. We’re talking Youtube, Yelp, LinkedIn, Tesla and many more. These are smart men, but more importantly they’re well connected men. By creating a community of badass, brazen women who lift as we climb we’ll pool resources, offer warm introductions, and lend a helping hand when we can, so that we all rise together.
